Joomla: To add and link to documents (.doc, .pdf, etc)

You can add links to documents-such as MS Word or PDF-to your website and then link to these documents.

Important - This procedure requires that you have JCE Content Editor ( http://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/ )installed.

  1. In an open article, place your cursor where you want to link to a document.
  2. On the Toolbar, click Insert File Link.
  3. In the Folders box, click on the folder that contains the document.

    If you want to upload a document, perform the following steps.
    1. Click Upload and then select the document on your local machine.
    2. Once the file is uploaded, click the x on the Upload dialog box to close it.

      - In the Title box, type the text you want to use for the link. Make the link descriptive; for example, instead of click here, us Click here to download Our Free Information.

      - If you want to include an icon that indicates the document type (eg, MS Word doc or PDF doc), select Include Icon.
  4. Click Insert to insert the link to the document.
  5. View the article on your website to verify that the new document links works.
